In 1999, Barry Segars left a large general contracting firm to pursue a vision of building a company centered on trusted relationships, exceptional client service, and quality construction. Together with a team of experienced professionals who shared that vision, he founded Segars Group, LLC.
Today, Segars Group is a full-service general contractor with extensive experience across healthcare, commercial, and specialty construction markets. Our reputation has been built on delivering high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Today, Segars Group is led by President Chad Snidow, Executive Vice President Gary Madaris, and Senior Vice President Mark Hendon. Building on the strong foundation established by Barry Segars, the leadership team remains committed to the company’s core values of integrity, quality, safety, and client service while positioning the organization for continued growth.

Barry has an extensive background in the construction industry. He is adept at developing project team relationships and producing high quality projects. He has over 39 years of experience in construction and has performed a range of duties during his career. He has successfully managed over $850 million of negotiated and bid work since 1980. Barry founded Segars Group, LLC in 1999. Prior to Segars Group, LLC, Barry worked for Brasfield & Gorrie.
Gary has over 25 years of facility operations and construction project management experience in healthcare. He was previously a hospital executive, successfully overseeing management of all facility and construction projects ranging from $100,000 to $22 million. Since joining Segars Group, Gary has managed various complex hospital-based projects including advanced imaging, oncology, and surgical suite construction totaling $130 million.
Gary holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama and a master’s degree from Mercer University. Gary has completed OSHA 500, 510 requirements and is an Authorized OSHA Trainer. He is a Certified Infection Control Trainer through CICTI, an ASHE Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) and a Certified Healthcare Physical Environment Worker.
Mark has worked in the construction industry for thirty years and has a well- rounded background. Mark holds several certificates from ASHE focused on construction within healthcare facilities. He has performed a range of duties from carpenter to his current duties and Vice President and Senior Project Manager for Segars Group, LLC. Mark has fifteen years of field experience and twenty-two years of project management experience. This experience has made him a valuable team member with a successful track record. He has been involved in management of over $300 million of negotiated and bid work during his career.
